Air Conditioning Servicing

Air Conditioning Servicing at

Goodyear Autocare Merimbula

AU39671

A vehicle's Air Conditioning System is important to the safety and comfort of drivers on the road. The system working correctly also helps the operation of demisters, and helps the system work at peak efficiency.

Air conditioning systems have a filter that absorbs any moisture that may have leaked through into the internal systems. Another important component, the TX Valve, controls the flow of refrigerant through the air conditioning system. Both are changed during the service to allow continuous performance.

What if a problem is found during the service?

As this is a standard service, it may be evident that there are further problems with your system. We would make a diagnosis appointment for you with an Auto Electrician if we feel it is required for further work. We are happy to make recommendations, but further diagnosis would be at the customers cost.

We only do work that is approved by the customer first. A standard service may not always ‘fix’ an air conditioning problem, but is where all work on the system would start.

Success will depend on how old the system is, how damaged and the make and model of the car.

Who will perform the service?

All of our Air Conditioning technicians are fully qualified mechanics in NSW and they also hold a license from ARC, The Australian Refrigeration Council.

Some Important Information to know…..

A correctly working system should not leak, if there is a leak there could be an underlying problem that your system is low on gas. Below are some of the ways gas can leak from your AC system:

  1. Rubber hoses can crimp from poor manufacturing
  2. Older rubber hoses can go hard and crack, even from tiny pinhole leaks
  3. Through rubber seals or o-rings that perish over time
  4. Tiny holes on other parts of the ac unit such as the compressor, evaporator or condenser

The most common is from the condenser assembly, due to the location of the part in your vehicle. Open to the atmosphere, subject to accident damage and stone chipping
